Words Of Wisdom – Sleeping Medicine
Having trouble sleeping some nights? Give this a try.
At first glance this may seem like nothing more than a nice little cartoon. But Charles Schultz, the creator of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts series, offers some profound wisdom here.
When you choose to forgive, you release yourself, (not just the one who hurt you), from carrying around the pain of being hurt and the bitterness that unforgiveness inevitably develops into when it is allowed to fester. Forgiving makes going off to sleep that much easier when you aren’t taking the burden of unforgiveness to bed with you.
Praying for those who need it reminds us that we are not alone in our humanness and the struggles of life. Everyone you know is fighting some kind of battle in his or her life and offering up a prayer for their strength and comfort as they go through difficulty is a simple and powerful kindness too often neglected. When you think there is nothing you can do to help someone in need, remember you can always pray.
Thanking God for everything you have is maybe your Two Chums favorite activity anytime. Gratitude is without question the most important factor in living a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. Not to mention the most abundant one. And expressing gratitude as you go off to bed can ensure sweet and restful sleep.
Whether you are having trouble sleeping or not, give this bedtime ritual a try. It will change your life for the better. We know…it surely has done that for us.
