Words Of Wisdom – Dr. King

Today, as a nation, we celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and what we learned from him and are still learning from him about love and justice. Today also happens to be his actual birthday. Had he lived, Dr. King would be 95 years old today.

It is generally believed that with age comes a degree of wisdom. MLK jr. was only 39 years old when he died. But he achieved a degree of wisdom that many much older never understand. While there are too many of his now famous quotes to list, two of our favorite words of wisdom from this dynamic man are these:

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act. It is a permanent attitude.” 

“I think I have discovered the highest good. It is love.”

What wisdom these quotes represent. It’s been 56 years since his passing but these wise thoughts and words live on. If we all lived by these words our world would doubtless be a far better place for all.
