Words Of Wisdom – Beauty
As a woman, isn’t being thought of as beautiful something we all long for at one time or another? But what sort of beauty are we hoping to achieve? The physical kind? Yes. But what about a deeper more lasting and permanent kind of beauty?
F. Scott Fitzgerald, author of one of the most acclaimed novels of all time, The Great Gatsby, had something very intriguing and profound to say about beauty.
If we long for beauty, maybe it is this sort we should be hoping to be seen as…a deep and lasting beauty that unlike physical beauty, only grows better with age and experience. This kind of inward beauty can transform the plainest woman into someone who is admired, loved and appreciated long after wrinkles have set in. The woman he describes is beautiful for how she touches others, for how she makes people feel. That would imply we are all capable of this on some level.
May we all have someone in our lives who sees us through a lens of this type of beauty…a lasting beauty that comes from a place, that as Fitzgerald says, is deep within our souls.

Think of Eleanor Roosevelt…she was not a beauty by any means but she acted in such a way and brought beauty to many around her.
