Why, oh Why, is the Sky Blue?
We found this really interesting so thought we would share it.
Good news: if you’ve ever been asked why the sky is blue, now you’ll have the answer. The Sun produces light that appears white but is composed of a prism of colors, which are separated out. One of those colors is blue. Blue light travels in small, short waves – waves which are sent by the Sun to the Earth and scattered all over by air particles and gas in the atmosphere. Because the blue waves are so small and short, the color is scattered more than any other, which is why we most often see blue skies. Nothing but blue sky, smiling at me.
