Want a quick yummy option for dinner? We’ve got that! Today we have a tasty way to prepare chicken to liven up your dinner repertoire. Sesame Chicken is easy to prepare. Served with rice, some stir fried veggies, and possibly a salad with the ginger salad dressing like the one we gave you a couple of weeks ago. Bon appetit!
SESAME CHICKEN
Boneless chicken breasts (allow 1 per person) cut into 1 inch pieces
cornstarch
soy sauce
minced garlic
sesame oil
oil for frying
Sesame sauce for dipping
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
Stir together mayo, soy sauce and sesame oil until thoroughly mixed. Set aside until chicken is done.
Season the chicken with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Toss the chunks of chicken into some cornstarch using enough to coat each piece. Heat enough oil to cover the bottom of a wok or frying pan on a medium high heat. Add some chicken to the hot oil in the pan. Place only as many pieces as will create a single layer. If you are making a number of breasts you will need to fry the chicken in batches. Allow the first side of the chicken pieces to fully brown. Add a couple of splashes of soy sauce, about a half of a teaspoon of minced garlic, and about 2 tablespoons of sesame oil to pan as the chicken is browning. Turn the chicken to brown on all sides.
When fully browned, remove the chicken from the pan and place in an ovenproof dish. Keep warm in a 200 degree oven until all the chicken is cooked. Serve with a dollop of sesame sauce. Add some rice and vegetables and enjoy.
Dinner is served 🙂
