Well Done – Royal Sweetness
Yesterday was Mother’s Day in Britain. Amid all the recent stories of conflict and strife in the British royal family, we thought a sweet story was in order.
It seems each year on Mother’s Day, the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, has her children write a note or make a card for the late Diana, Princess of Wales who is their grandmother. This year photos of the notes were shared on social media.
This was the card Prince Louis’ (nearly 3 years old in April) made for his grandmother, Diana:
This was the card from Prince George who will turn 8 years old in July:
And Charlotte (who will turn 6 years old in May wrote this on her card:
What very sweet children they are, with such warm and lovely messages to a “Granny” they have never actually met. Charlotte’s note brought tears to our eyes knowing how this would likely touch her Papa, William, so deeply. Her understanding of her dear Papa is deep. So much love and such sensitivity expressed from little children at a time when love and kind, sensitive words are so very much needed. Oh that adults could behave with this sort of love and kindness. We all could take a lesson from this. As the Bible says, “A little child shall lead them.”
Well done George, Charlotte and Louis. And well done Catherine and William for keeping Diana very much alive and a special part of these precious children’s lives. They will no doubt be the better for loving her and celebrating her life. Well done Cambridges every one!
