Well Done – A Lesson In Forgiveness
If someone told you a story about a black man accused of dealing drugs, and a white cop, who later became the best of friends, you’d say a little skeptically “well….maybe”. But if they told you it was the white cop who accused and arrested the black man, and had him sent to prison, you’d be even more leary of the story. But guess what? That isn’t even the half of it! this one has a twist you will never see coming. This is one of the most remarkable and powerful stories….true stories…we’ve ever heard. Here’s the rest of the story.
People are going at each other over everything imaginable right now. There is anger and venom all over social media coming from both sides of the political debate . There is hatred and violence in the streets at some events, we see it played out on the evening news. Even in families, there is a level of hostility that is beyond anything most of us have ever seen or experienced. There is a seeming unwillingness to see or understand someone else’s point of view and to vilify those who don’t share the same opinion. We are all guilty on one level or another.
So what a beautiful lesson we can all take from these two men…the most unlikely of friends. Their story is powerful because it is a story based in love and forgiveness. As the moderator says “if these two guys from the coffee shop can set aside their bitter grounds, what’s our excuse?”
We all need more forgiveness, more love, and more joy. If we can just try to show these things towards each other it will surely lead to much, much, much, more abundant living.

I saw that story on CBS Sunday Morning. It is very moving and quite a lesson! That’s why I record and watch it every week. I learn so much and Steve Hartman shares many wonderful stories like this kind.
Yes we agree, Dick 🙂
