We Are Here To Remind You, It Is A Wonderful LIfe!
Tradition plays such a huge part in the Christmas season and watching our favorite movies is one of those traditions! Having the whole family curl up on a comfy sofa with a blanket and some hot chocolate and then clicking on one of our favorite movies is the best!
Probably our very favorite is “It’s A Wonderful Life” with none other but Jimmy Stewart. It is an old movie and certainly brings with it many sweet memories of years gone by. When it was first released in 1946 it wasn’t considered a hit at all. People apparently thought it too dark a subject. But as you surely know it is now one of the most beloved of all American films and is watched, especially at Christmas time, on television all over the world. If you do not own it, you might want to get it here on Amazon.
Another great one is “White Christmas” with the amazing Bing Crosby. “Love Actually” is an English flick, a more modern one, which takes place around Christmas and is heart warming. You can’t help but smile at the Christmas classic “Miracle On 34th Street” , and if you want to laugh “Home Alone” may be just the movie you are looking for.
Just a short list of Christmas themed films or films that take place around Christmastime that you might enjoy:
A Christmas Carol
Holiday Inn
The Holiday
Bridget Jones’ Diary
Polar Express
The Santa Clause
A Christmas Story
Babes In Toyland
A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
The Christmas Shoes
While You Were Sleeping
Your Two Chums love musicals, and around this time of year, we love to watch “My Fair Lady”, and repeat with Eliza Doolittle that “In Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly (h)ever happen. “The Sound of Music“ is another favorite where we enjoy the bliss of a large, musical family and the famed Maria, the “willo the wisp, the clown”. Somehow, these wreak of tradition to us and settle right into our hearts as we watch them for the heaven knows, maybe one-hundredth, time!
Whatever your favorite movies are, take the time to watch them with your family and create more traditions to take with you along memory lane. They certainly add to the love, joy and abundance that we have in our lives!
Enjoy this week leading up to Christmas.

These old classics bring back such happy family memories to me. But I don’t need to buy any of these movies; my sweet friend Jackie had them all at her house. I can come over and cuddle up to the soft ears of the cutest Basset Hounds in the world and watch movies with them.
By the way, you might want to add “Christmas in Connecticut” to your list of Christmas movies.
