Versailles!
These gardens are amazing as well as the Palace! Which King commissioned the building of this extraordinary Palace?
Every king needs a palace, and King Louis XIII found his during a hunting trip in 1607.
Finding the location in the forest very pleasant, he decided to build a small country residence for himself.
But by 1631, the “simple” building wasn’t enough and he realized it was time to make a sophisticated castle.
The king ordered a reconstruction of the residence, which carried on until 1634 and laid the foundation of the extravagant Palace of Versailles that we know and love today.
And, if you have never been, put it on your bucket list. It truly is something to behold!
Oui, c’est ca!
