Unwanted Ant Visitors?
Yesterday, we posted about inviting ants in. Today we are posting about keeping ants out!
It seems that there are a lot of ants in our homes on these very warm days.
We found this helpful list of how to get rid of ants and, although we have not tried every one of them, we thought we would share the ideas and let you try. Let us know which ones you find to work.
- Chalk. One of the home remedies to get rid of ants is to use chalk. Spray some chalk or draw a line of chalk where they are entering and this will keep them away.
- Lemons. Squeeze a lemon or place lemon peels in places where they enter.
- Oranges. Oranges are the same as lemons.
- Pepper. Ants love sugar but hate pepper. Put some pepper where they are entering.
- Salt. Regular table salt is the best way. Put this around where they are coming in.
- White vinegar. Put equal amounts of white vinegar and water into a spray bottle and shake well. Spray this daily around where they are entering.
- Cinnamon. Not liking strong smells, ants will leave a place where there is cinnamon and cloves.
- Peppermint. Again, the strong fragrance of peppermint will repel the ants.
Hopefully, this will be helpful to all of you, our chums!
