Tricks And Treats For Halloween Decor
While your Two Chums don’t go in much for things of a really ghoulish nature, we couldn’t resist the creativity that these decor and food serving ideas represent…
An old pair of jeans from the thrift store can be transformed into the perfect serving piece for your Halloween buffet. Cut holes and fill with chicken wings, sausages, pulled pork and meatballs. Drizzle some barbeque sauce “blood” around the table and you’ve got a winner of a display!
Wrap your pumpkin in some gauze bandages and add eyeballs (usually available at 99 cent or Dollar stores or at craft stores)
For a scary looking brew place some dry ice in a metal cup or can (slightly taller than your punch bowl) and add your juice or punch to a glass punch bowl placed on a tray to to catch drips. Don’t forget to surround your bowl with candy eyeballs for added effect.
Dress up your serving table with these easy to make spider and candy corn topiaries. Plastic spiders from the Dollar store or craft store can be hot glued to foam balls sprayed black. Paint the dowels holding them orange and black and “plant” them in a bed of candy corn. Don’t forget to let some of the spiders wander around the bottom of the pots and the table top.
Pick up some chalkboard labels at the craft store and attach them to canning jars. Write the names of your children’s “mummies” on the labels to help identify each persons drink.
Use pizza dough (Trader Joe’s has a good ready made dough) and roll it into a rectangle. Add tomato sauce and cheese. Cut the sides into strips and layer them alternating across each other to form your “mummy”. Use pepperoni and olive slices to form those big bulging “eyes”. Bake as directed.
This one speaks for itself. Choose a pumpkin large enough to be hollowed out and filled with a plastic or even disposable bowl. Fill with ice and bottles of soda or beer.
What Halloween party would be complete without an appearance of some kind from Frankenstein’s bride. This one looks great and is tasty too.
It’s not a party without balloons. Orange and white balloons can be transformed into clever faces with a black Sharpie. These decorations cost you just pennies and only a few minutes to make. A bunch of these would also be a fun to decorate your porch or front door or as a gift to take to your hostess if you aren’t the one having the party.
Granny Smith apple slices spread with peanut butter and filled with candy coated almonds or raisins. These look like they are are meant for the kids at the party but they will be just as big a hit with the adults.
Finding ways to celebrate with family and friends, and share some fun and make some memories always contributes to a life full of love, joy and abundance!
