Top Off Your Outfit With A Hat!
Growing up in England, it was very commonplace to see ladies, and gentlemen for that matter, in hats. My darling Mother wore hats all the time. A lot of luncheons she attended called for a hat and definitely when my parents went to the races, be it Ascot, the Derby or any other special one, she would always have a wonderful hat on her head with Father beside her in his top hat and tails.I realize that we do not live in England and here in America, especially on the West Coast, we do not tend to wear hats BUT with Easter coming around the corner, why not don a hat and go all out? You might think, “Oh, hats don’t suit me” but we encourage you to go into a store that sells hats and try on all sorts of shapes and sizes. We feel sure that you will find ONE, at least one, that you love and that could really “finish off” your Easter outfit.
Certainly, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge shows us how to wear all types, all shapes and sizes, of hats and with such grace! Your Two Chums, even though we are not Duchesses, love, absolutely LOVE, to wear hats and do so whenever we can. Somehow, when one wears a hat, one feels rather regal as it tends to make one stand up straight. Come to think of it, when we do don a hat, we more often than not, get compliments on that hat.
As we have mentioned,The Duchess of Cambridge can, and does, wear all sorts of hats. She wears smaller hats….
and larger hats….
She wears velvet hats…
and COWBOY hats! …
She wears VERY large hats…
and teeny hats…
Catherine can wear a themed hat (the Canadian Maple Leaf)…
or a “loopdy-loop” hat…
Why not watch Easter Parade and get a feel for what you should be wearing this Easter? A hat will always make your outfit and add to your joy and abundant living!

when i was in england in ’98, i so wanted to come home with a true english hat.
when i went into a haberdashery in brighton(or was it bath) i was determined to find one. i found many that i loved, but they all felt so over the top for the u.s. when i made comment as to how few occasions i would have to wear such a(n expensive) hat, the shop lady looked at me with shock on her face and said “do you not wear hats in the states? not to weddings? or anything.” when i told her i loved hats, but was the only one i knew who wore them, she looked as though i had told her the sky was green.
i did, finally, find an affordable hat that i could easily pack in a suitcase. i have worn it to a wedding and to easter, but it has been a while. i may have to put it on again this year.
LOVE this story! Can’t wait to see you in your Easter chapeau Dana:)
For sure – wear that hat, Dana! There is something just rather wonderful about wearing a hat. Let’s all do it more! xo
