They Went To A Garden Party …

The Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with 8,000 of the Queens guests enjoyed a party in the garden! On Tuesday, Buckingham Palace was the site of one of the Queen’s annual garden parties. This is a tradition which was begun in the 1860s by then Queen Victoria.  With so many in attendance, “Who is invited?”, you may wonder. We’re glad you asked.  Here is the answer from a post on Instagram about this special event:

In true English fashion, around 27,000 cups of tea are served, along with 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 slices of cake.  Here are some of the fun photos of the day:-)

How adorable is this Queen?  There she is all dressed up and in her sunglasses talking with as many guests as she could get around to.  She is quite a lady this lovely Queen!

Catherine was stunning in her Alexander McQueen pink coat dress and her late mother-in-law’s gorgeous drop pearl earrings.  William looked quite dapper in his morning suit as well.

And our favorite photo of the day was posted on Instagram with a caption using the lyrics from a song from the film The Music Man.
William in his top hat carrying his umbrella and holding Catherine’s arm while she smiles at him adoringly. Don’t these two look like they are dancing their way into the party?  Could they be any cuter?!!!

We can’t help but believe Diana would be so very proud of both of her boys and would be thrilled at the women they have chosen to love. They are truly a delight 🙂
