The Heart
The heart is a symbol synonymous with love. And as The Beatles so rightly proclaimed in 1967, “All You Need Is Love”.
As the heart is to the body, so love is to the spirit. Love is the very essence of life. Whether we know it or not we all have it. It is right here, all the time, within us.
If you are waiting for love to come to you from “out there somewhere” or from someone, you may wait a long time and never be satisfied. Love is yours to give and the more you give the more you have.
So, on this Valentine’s Day, no matter where you are or who you are with, use that amazing quality – love. Give a stranger a smile as you are walking along, compliment someone on their beautiful eyes, give a helping hand with the dishes – oh, yes, love is demonstrated in countless, absolutely countless, ways! Wait and see, you will get it back!
Yes, love is in the air. Claim it, feel it, share it. We dare you!
Use more love, offer more joy and you are sure to experience a more abundant life!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Post Script
Did you know:
…where the term “sweet heart” comes from?
“Swete-hert” was the meaning of a fast-beating heart. Since love often makes us giddy and our heart starts beating more quickly, this term morphed into “Sweetheart”.
…how the term “Wearing one’s heart on one’s sleeve” came into being?
In the early 1800’s young men, American and British alike, wore slips of paper pinned to their sleeves with their girlfriend’s name written on it. Thus came the expression, “wearing one’s heart on one’s sleeve”, being transparent about one’s emotions.
And now you know 🙂
