The Festival of Lights Begins!
Hanukkah, the celebration of a miracle of God. begins tonight after sundown and continues for the next 8 days.
These letters stand for the Hebrew phrase “Nes Gadol Hayah Sham”, which translated means “a great miracle happened there!”
The miracle being referred to is Hanukkah which is also know as the festival of lights. Many people think of Hanukkah as a sort of Jewish Christmas. There is little, if any, knowledge by non-Jews of the story behind the celebration. This short video explains the story and celebration of Hanukkah:
God did for the Jews what they could not do for themselves. He took what little oil they had and made it become enough oil. Your Two Chums believe He is still in the business of miracles. He is able and willing to take what is humanly the “not enough” in our lives and make it “more than enough” if we ask Him and thank Him for His goodness to us.
So whether you are Jewish or not, you can certainly appreciate what this holiday commemorates and celebrate with all our Jewish chums the miracle of the “festival of lights”. Remembering and celebrating brings to our lives great love, joy, and so much abundance.
Happy Hanukkah!

I saw a great Hanukah recipe for Latkes Benedict. It is eggs Benedict on a potato latke.
We are going to try this next year…or maybe this year…maybe today! Thanks Ashley, LOVE this idea 🙂
