The Blue Marble

Today is International Earth Day. This NASA photo of earth taken in 1972 by the Apollo 17 crew, has been titled “Blue Marble”. We think the reason is obvious.

This stunning photo has been described as “one of the most iconic images, not just of our time, but of all time”. No matter where you live, this is a photo of your home…of our home. She belongs to us all. She is beautiful from a distance and right up close. She is precious. We need to do our part, whatever that is for each one of us, to take care of her and keep her healthy.

The earth is a gift. God in His infinite wisdom and generosity lavished us with this big, beautiful, bountiful home. Be kind to her and to each other. Happy Earth Day 🙂
