Tea, Anyone?
You don’t have to have traveled to England to know that the English love their “cuppa” or cup of tea! If tragedy strikes, you can hear someone say, “Time for a cup of tea!” If joy is in the air, the same words can be heard! If it is raining outside and a little dreary, absolutely THE SAME WORDS!
Tea, to the English, is the fix all of fixes!
And, of course, there is a tea time that is observed in most English households.
Contrary to what a lot of people think, tea time is usually around 4:00 in the afternoon. It is religiously followed and enjoyed!
And here is a guide that we found on social media to help us all remember:
We like to make tea in a tea pot. Somehow it seems to be a part of the whole enjoyment.
Take a minute this weekend and enjoy a cuppa!

One of the best things ever from the British. My grandmother enjoyed a good “cuppa”, as do I, and she was Irish.
Nothing better than a good “cuppa”, to be sure! Next time we are together, we will have to have one!
My husband and I took every opportunity we could to visit tea rooms on our three trips to England. For us it was an afternoon break but often we also used it as our dinner! Once I’d had really good black tea there was no going back to anything I could then buy that was American. We tried many and settled on PGTips brand and in the 80’s that meant finding either an English shop or East Indian Grocery to buy it. Still my favorite. I think it’s sad that the fad of English tea rooms here passed out of favor. I used to have several very close by to enjoy with friends. There are still a couple and I guess I should go again soon to frequent them and keep them in business!
Yes, a wonderful way of life, to be sure! Maybe we should get a little group together and go, Hilary!
Much love, Jackie
