Savvy Secrets – A Potpourri!
We know that you always love our Savvy Secrets so here are a few from LifeMix.Today to keep you going this week!1. Need to clean your microwave oven? Pour boiling water over lemons in a microwave-safe bowl, and cook in the microwave for five minutes. The steam will loosen any particles in the microwave so you can easily wipe it down; plus the lemons make it smell great.
2. Use lemon Pledge on bathroom mirrors to make them smell great and shine.
3. Need a quick fix for dirty grout lines? Use dish soap or toothpaste to brighten them up. Just drizzle on a sponge or wet cloth and scrub.
4. When you are washing windows, clean one side with horizontal stokes and the other with vertical. This way if there are streaks, you will know which side they are on.
5. Dirty exhaust fans? Use canned air to blow out the dust and debris.
6. After cleaning your toilet place the brush under the toilet seat and close the lid to hold it there. You can finish cleaning the rest of the bathroom while the toilet brush drips dry back into the toilet instead of the toilet brush holder!
7. Not a fan of dryer sheets? Use balls of aluminum foil to eliminate static cling instead. Just roll up about two feet of foil into a ball and throw it in the dryer. Use two or three balls for heavy loads. The best thing is you don’t have to replace them!
8. Has the bottom of your iron become yucky? Remove this sticky residue with salt. Simply turn the iron onto the hottest setting without steam and run it over salt sprinkled on paper or a cotton towel.
9. Mix 1 cup of olive oil and ¼ cup of white vinegar in a spray bottle for your own DIY furniture polish. The results are amazing!
10. Dirty blinds? Mix equal parts warm water and vinegar in a bowl. Slip an old sock on over your hand and dip it in the solution. Wipe all the grime and dust off the blinds. When the sock gets too dirty just rinse it off in water and continue cleaning.
Thanks, chums, for coming to our site and, unlike most “secrets”, we really would love it if you would share these ones!
