Savvy Secret – Carpet Stains

This just might be one of the most useful Savvy Secrets we’ve ever shared!

We came across this carpet cleaning tip on social media. Having tried a number of things like this that to seem pop up from time to time but never really work as claimed, we were skeptical. But try this one we did, and voila! ….it worked!!!

This is just one area of carpet that had some greasy liquid dripped on it and nothing we tried had removed it successfully. Some things would lighten the stain, at least temporarily, but some remnant of the stain always remained….until now. This is the before photo:

The Savvy Secret we saw involved a can of common shaving cream and some old fashioned elbow grease. I picked up some shaving cream at the 99 Cent store and decided to give this remedy to carpet stains a try. Maria, my wonderful housekeeper, came in and found me working on a small spot in another area of the room and she took over with the bigger area of stains while I filmed. She (and the shaving cream) worked a miracle.

If you have any stains on your rugs or carpets, run don’t walk to the nearest Dollar store or grocery store and get yourself a can of shaving cream, grab a rag and get to work. There are miracles to be performed in your house too!
