Pet Names
Your Two Chums are ones who love using “pet names” for their close family and friends. Apparently, the Royals also love using pet names….names that we, the public never hear.
Here are some of those pet names:
Apparently, Meghan Markle’s mother calls her “Flower”. Meghan also goes by MM and M&M.
As we have reported before, Prince George calls Her Majesty The Queen, “Gan Gan”.
Harry gets called “Spike” as well as “Potter” by his friends.
During college years, William went by the name “Steve” to keep a low profile. Not necessarily a nickname – more of an alias.
Catherine’s family calls her “Squeak”.
Diana, Princess of Wales called William “Wombat”.
Catherine and William nicknamed George (when his mother was pregnant with him) “Grape”. We are not sure that the nickname stuck after he was born but, for a time, at least, he was “Grape”.
Harry has been known to call his father, Prince Charles, “Pa”.
Harry calls Meghan “Meg”.
When the queen was a young girl, she called herself “Tillabet.” The name later evolved into “Lilibet” and was what her family members and close friends often referred to her as.
Charles and Camilla refer to one another as “Fred” and “Gladys”.
Prince Philip calls his wife, The Queen of England, “Cabbage”. “Ma Petite Chou” meaning “My Little Cabbage” is a pet name in French so it is thought that he has simply translated it.
Apparently, William calls Catherine, “Babykins” and “Poppet”. Whilst we have never heard him call her “Babykins”, he did let “Poppet” slip out whilst in public.
And Catherine calls William, simply, “Babe”.
Rather fun, we say. If you don’t use nick names for your nearest and dearest, why not start?
Pure joy, for sure!
