Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie
It may be “old fashioned” but we think Pumpkin Pie is always in style! It came to our attention last week that for all the recipes we given our chums over the years, somehow we have never shared our favorite pumpkin pie recipe. So here it is just in time for Thanksgiving. Give this one a try. We KNOW you will be very “thankful” that you did 🙂
P.S. Don’t forget to try our other pie recipes to complete your dessert table this Thanksgiving
Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie
Pie Crust Dough (enough for 2 pies, use half for this pie)
2 cups canned pumpkin puree
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 large eggs
1 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Roll out dough. Line a 9” pie plate with dough and set aside.
Beat together the pumpkin, the cream and the eggs. Add spices to the brown sugar and stir that into the pumpkin mixture along with the vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Pour the filing into the prepared pie crust. Place pie on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 8 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking another 35-40 minutes or until center of the pie looks firm. Cool and serve with whipped cream.
