More Favorite Things-Quick And Easy Apple Turnovers
The title of this post says it all. The flavor is apple and these are surely quick and very easy to make. Oh and did we say, they are really yummy too:-) This is one of those “recipes” that is really more of a method than an actual recipe.
Here is what you will need:
Apples, peeled and sliced about 1/2″ – 3/4″ thick
Puff pastry*
Butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
Powdered sugar
(*You can substitute pie dough if puff pastry is not available in the freezer section of your market)
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut the sheets or squares of puff pastry into triangles. Spread each triangle liberally with butter.
Then sprinkle brown sugar over the butter.
Toss the apple slices with a bit of cinnamon.
Place an apple slice at the widest side of the triangle and then roll up the triangle over the apple so that it looks like a crescent roll or croissant.
Place the turnovers on a baking sheet leaving adequate space between them. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the until the turnovers are golden brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes then dust with powdered sugar. YUM!!!!
