It’s A Sparkler!

…and we are not talking about Christmas decorations here!

Prince Harry presented Meghan Markle with a “sparkler” as he got down on one knee and posed the question, “Will you marry me?”.   And she could not wait to say “yes”!

The “sparkler” is certainly beautiful!  Set on a yellow gold band, the center stone of the ring is from Botswana, a very special place to Prince Harry.  In fact, he says that he feels most at peace in that area.  He took his  now betrothed there to celebrate her 36th birthday.

The ring was created by Queen Elizabeth II’s preferred jeweler, Cleave and Company.  Harry designed it himself and made sure his mother was present by using two diamonds from the late Princess Diana’s personal jewelry collection.  “The little diamonds on the sides are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together,” Harry told the BBC.  When asked what his mother would have thought, “She would have jumped up and down in delight.”  He is sure she is “jumping up and down in delight” wherever she is right now.

When asked by the press how they are feeling, Harry said, “Thrilled.  Very glad it’s not raining”.  Meghan Markle said, “So happy!”.  And when asked when he knew she was the one. he answered, “The very first time we met”.

There is nothing like a British royal wedding and, apparently, we have one to look forward to in the Spring of 2018.  A fairy tale, for sure.
