Homemade Froyo
When you want a healthy, easy, delicious, treat, you can make it in moments!I have a confession….I don’t like frozen yogurt aka Froyo. I have tried all kinds, a variety of flavors and types from those you buy at the market to those you get in yogurt shops. I don’t like them because they aren’t ice cream and I love ice cream.
BUT…this one is different. I actually like it and I’m a tough critic when it comes to frozen yogurt. It is simple to make and very tasty and the bonus is, as desserts go, it is healthy too. If you want to feel you are living abundantly AND healthy try it. I think you’ll agree 🙂
Homemade Frozen Yogurt
With a few simple ingredients you can have frozen yogurt in less time than it would take to drive to the store and buy some.
2 cups plain whole milk yogurt, preferably organic
1/2 cup powdered sugar, preferably organic (you can use honey but it will make the yogurt much softer to start)
1 bag frozen berries, preferably organic
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
juice of 1/2 a lemon
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend just until thick and creamy. Now spoon it into freezer safe containers. It will be ready to eat if you like it the consistency of soft serve ice cream . If you like your yogurt firmer, simply freeze it for about 2 hours….bon appetit!
