Home On The Ranch – Dressing Mix

Who doesn’t love Ranch Dressing? Whether used as a salad dressing or as a dip for chips or veggies, Ranch Dressing is arguably America’s favorite*.   And the mix you use to make the dressing or dip is easy to make at home 🙂  With a few simple ingredients you can make the mix that can be transformed into salad dressing or dip in moments.

Once you’ve tried this we think it will be a staple in your kitchen that makes an appearance on your table on a regular basis.  Bon Appetite!

Homemade Ranch Mix

1/3 cup buttermilk powder (dry buttermilk)
2 teaspoons dill weed
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried chives
1 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients and mix well.  You can also mix in a food processor to get a finer consistency.  (We prefer to use the food processor but only pulse the mixture lightly).

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Three tablespoons of the mixture equals one packet of store bought dressing mix.  To make dressing add 1 tablespoon to 1/3 cup milk and 1/3 cup mayonnaise and stir well or whisk to combine. Happy eating 🙂

* Not only is this America’s favorite, it is definitely one of my sweet husband, Randy’s favorites.  Randy happens to be celebrating his birthday today.  Happy birthday honey!!!!
