Happy Birthday Princess Charlotte
A week ago today, May 2nd, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge celebrated her 1st birthday. Here is how her family and some heads of state from around the world marked the occasion. According to Town and Country this is a list of some of the gifts this darling little princess received:
“The one year old received gifts and cards from 64 countries, including a collection of Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales from British Prime Minister David Cameron, a handmade coat from King Jigme and Queen Jetsun of Bhutan, a selection of wool teddy bears, baby blankets, and booties from the Prime Minister of New Zealand, and a rattle woven by Irish basketmaker Ciaran Hogan from her grandfather, Prince Charles. Perhaps the most extravagant present was an 18-karat white-gold rattle from the Natural Sapphire Company, featuring diamonds, rubies, and sapphires. Estimated price? $45,000.
President Obama delivered his gifts for the princess—a jigsaw puzzle and a stuffed animal that looks like his own Portuguese Water Dog, Bo—in-person during his state visit to London last week.”
The Telegraph reported the most practical gift was a set of biodegradable diapers from Aunt Pippa Middleton, made of natural mull cloth.
It may have been Charlotte’s birthday, but it was we, the royal family’s admirers, who also got a gift. The future King and Queen of England, William and Catherine, shared some adorable photos of the little princess that Catherine took herself and released, last Sunday, the day before Princess Charlotte’s birthday.

Yes, I agree. The photos are just adorable. But what did great-gammy, Our beloved Queen, give her? May I have a diamond rattle tonight, my dear Princess Jackie? What a lovely party gift that would make!
Trying to find out, Dick, but feel sure the Queen’s gift to her great granddaughter, Charlotte, was nothing very glitzy! We are lead to believe that she has a “soft spot” for Charlotte and that, perhaps is the biggest gift she could possibly give to her.
