Even Her Majesty The Queen was taught at an early age the importance of gratitude!
This is a letter that she wrote to her grandmother, Queen Mary, when quite a tot!

Obviously, someone (and maybe Princess Elizabeth herself) had drawn lines in pencil so that the letter would be neat.
JOY!

How adorable! Wouldn’t her grandmother and great-grandmother be proud of her today?
My mom’s rule was that yo couldn’t play with, wear, or read a gift until the thank you note was written. Manners were so important to her generation (she was just a little older than the Queen). Amazing that someone kept the letter. Thanks for sharing it..
What great training! Heartfelt gratitude certainly is a wonderful thing!
