Gifts for the Prince
The world is rejoicing at the birth of this new Prince. Babies who were born in England on Monday, when His Royal Highness Prince of Cambridge was born, will receive a commemorative silver coin….in blue pouches for boys and pink for girls. Apparently, commemorating a birth by crossing the palm of a baby with silver has long been a tradition.
The Royal Mint has made 2013 of these silver pennies. The sterling silver penny features the shield of the Royal Arms along with the year 2013. How lovely that in some small way each baby who receives one will share in the celebration! All babies born everywhere, at anytime deserve to feel like little princes and princesses to their families and those who love them. As Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge noted as they brought the baby Prince out to meet the public for the first glimpse of their future King, every couple who has had a child knows exactly the emotion and joy of how she and Prince William are feeling at the birth of their son.
So we have compiled some gifts that would be fitting for HRH Prince of Cambridge or any new prince or princess you may know.
Sterling Silver Brush and Comb Set $80
Baby’s First tooth Limoge Box $215
Cable Knit Cashmere Stroller Blanket $149
Personalized Pewter Porringer and Cup $102.99
If you are looking for baby gifts and these aren’t quite right you can also see a previous post Last Minute Gifts for some other gift ideas. Or perhaps you would like to try your hand at making something sweet and very personal for the little one you love. In that case you could take a look at our post on making Onesies and Burb Cloths.
Sometimes the little “prince” or “princess” you want to acknowledge is a baby who already has everything as is most likely the situation of HRH Prince of Cambridge. In that case, as one authority on the royals suggested earlier yesterday when interviewed, making a donation to a charity that helps children would be a lovely gesture. One such option is World Vision.
Whatever gift you choose, and for whichever baby you are giving it, remember to give with a heart full of love and joy. When you do no matter what your gift is, however large or small you will certainly make that little one’s life, and your own, full of abundance!
