Favorite Things – A Tree Waterer

Decorated-Christmas-Tree-2

In order to keep your Christmas tree looking as beautiful in a few weeks as it is the day you put it up, you have to make sure that it has enough water!

Over the next few weeks we want to share with you, our chums, some of our favorite things.  We will each take a turn sharing something we deem as a “favorite thing” and we want to invite you to join us.  As something comes to mind send us an e-mail by clicking on the envelope on the right hand side or just make a comment in the comment section.  We are excited to see what some of your favorite things are.

I’m starting it off today with this very clever device I came across for watering my Christmas tree.  We water our tree every day…sometimes twice or three times a day when we first put it up.  This year, we found this wonderful “waterer”.  It is actually called a “watering spout” and can be found at most places where trees are being sold or right here.  (It is less expensive at the Christmas tree places.)  You simply put the spout down through your Christmas tree’s branches into the tray at the bottom.   There is a little piece of velcro on the cup which you can attach to the tree so that it does not move around.  Obviously, you are going to place it well inside the tree where it is not going to show.  Then, all you do is add tree food or 7-up to your water and pour it into the little spout until the tray is filled.

It really is a wonderful little gadget that does the trick.

Enjoy this season.  Make sure to throw out the stressful thoughts and keep the love and joy going!

Jackie; Why 7-up? I had never heard this, always just use water. Love Sheilia

The sugar in the 7-up is good for the tree. You can add sugar to the water, apparently, but I have never tried using just the sugar. Enjoy this season! Much love to you.
