Easy, Cheesy, Peppery, Yummy

The holidays are upon us. Having some delicious snacks or appetizers that can be made ahead and ready for friends or family when they drop in, or before a holiday meal, or while watching a game, can make everyone’s time together a little more enjoyable and certainly more tasty! So over the next couple of weeks we will share some simple appetizer ideas.
Today we will share a new favorite….
Feta Pepper Cheese Spread
4 oz. feta cheese
4 oz. cream cheese
2 tablespoons whole Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until the cheesy spread is well mixed and creamy. You can add additional olive oil if the spread isn’t creamy enough. Place the spread in a small bowl or ramekin and sprinkle the top with fresh pepper. You can serve this immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
Serve with crackers or toasted bread croutons*. Enjoy!

*To make bread croutons, simply cut slices of bread into 4 squares. Spread with butter and place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with garlic salt and toast in the oven until lightly browned and slightly crispy about 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees. Don’t overtake. They will continue to crisp up as they cool. This is a great ay toms up bread that is becoming stale. Store in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
