Joyful Easter
Our Easter celebrations will look a little different again this year, but regardless of how small our gatherings may be, that doesn’t mean that we can’t still make them fun, and as joyful as they can be.
We came across this idea from Better Homes and Gardens and thought it was worth passing along. Fill some plastic eggs with candy or little treats or even coins, then wrap them in crepe paper, and tie the ends with pretty ribbons or colorful yarn to make them look like bon bons. Add a printed label to each one having to do with things associated with Easter, like “Jelly Bean”, “Easter Bonnet”, or “He Is Risen”. Hide the eggs and then have each person act out the message of the label on the egg they have collected, similar to a game of Charades.
Games not your thing? Wrap the filled eggs as described but instead of a label associated with Easter to be acted out, print out each persons name who will be joining you and use the “bon bon” eggs as place cards at your Easter table. If you are a family of faith, include in each egg a Bible scripture from the Easter story to be read aloud.
However, and with whomever, you gather this Easter, remember to make your time together very abundant by serving up heaping amounts of gratitude and love. That will make any gathering very joyful indeed!
Gratefully and joyfully,
