Cast Your Vote
Here are some reasons why if you haven’t already, you need to get to your polling place and do what, as citizens, is your privilege, your right and your responsibility…VOTE! Just in case you could use some more motivation we thought we would share these quotes about why you should fulfill your responsibility as a citizen and get out and vote today:
1 .”Voting can make you Superman for one day, fighting for Truth, Justice, and the American Way!”
2. “Freedom is a light for which many men have died in darkness.” – Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Philadelphia, Pa.
3. “Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.”- Franklin D. Roosevelt
4. “Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the people and burn their behinds, then they will have to sit on their blisters.” – Abraham Lincoln
5. “The beauty of our democracy lies in the American value of equality: if you vote, you have a seat at the table. If you speak, you have a chance to persuade others. A billionaire and a minimum wage earner have the same power at the ballot box.”
6. “If you don’t vote for your interests, who will?”
7. “You’ve got to vote, vote, vote, vote. That’s it; that’s the way we move forward. That’s how we make progress for ourselves and for our country.”- Michelle Obama
8 .To ensure representatives who are:“…the medium of a chosen body of citizens, whose wisdom may best discern the true interest of their country, and whose patriotism and love of justice will be least likely to sacrifice it to temporary or partial considerations.” – James Madison, Federalist
9. To honor the 2,852,901 U.S. citizens who gave their lives or have been wounded to protect the constitution that protects your right to self-determine your community, state, and nation.
10. “Like many of my fellow millennials, I do not consider myself categorically Republican or Democrat. More than party affiliation, I vote based on what I believe is right, for my family and for my country. Sometimes it’s a tough choice.”- Ivanka Trump
11. “Bad politicians are sent to Washington by good people who don’t vote.”- William E. Simon
12. “Too many people fought too hard to make sure all citizens of all colors, races, ethnicities, genders, and abilities can vote to think that not voting somehow sends a message.”- Luis Gutierrez
13. “A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user. “-Theodore Roosevelt
14. “One vote. That’s a big weapon you have there, Mister. In 1948, just one additional vote in each precinct would have elected Dewey. In 1960, one vote in each precinct in Illinois would have elected Nixon. One vote.”-Paul Harvey
These are good reminders for all of us to vote because each vote makes a difference. Don’t miss your chance to be Superman (or Superwoman) today and cast your vote for Truth, Justice and the American Way. As Paul Harvey so rightly said, your one vote is a big weapon. Use it wisely 🙂
