Cappuccino, Anyone?
How do you think this popular coffee got its much-ordered name?
For a group of monks dedicated to poverty and simplicity, the Capuchin friars of Italy get a lot of things named after them.
Not only can they claim the capuchin monkeys of Central and South America, but they also get the popular espresso beverage.
The Capuchin friars each wear a brown robe with a distinctive pointed hood that the Italians call cappuccio, a word which eventually morphed into cappuccino.
