“Beautifying” Savvy Secrets
You guessed it! More Savvy Secrets ….. this time to keep you beautiful!
1. Looking for a fabulous age-defying skin treatment? Milk is the greatest thing! It is good for the inside of you and the outside! Lactic acid works as an exfoliant, and milk’s amino acids and proteins have a calming effect on red skin. Grab a clean cloth or a cotton ball, put milk on it and dab it on your skin.
2. After the whole winter of wearing sweaters over your elbows, they tend to be forgotten about and get very rough. Here’s a great treatment. Cut a lemon or lime in half and sprinkle it with brown sugar. Bend your elbow and put it right into the cut fruit and twist the fruit back and forth. The acid in the fruit will take away the dead skin with the help of the sugar!
3. Are your feet achy after a long day? Fill a bucket or footbath with warm water and add several rosemary sprigs. Put your feet in and they will thank you!
4. Make your own scented bath oil by adding a few drops of your favorite perfume to some baby oil and mix it up well. Add to your bath and enjoy!
5. As we have mentioned before, vinegar has many uses. One of these uses which we have not told you about is as a degreaser for oily hair! Shampoo your hair as usual, rinse, then pour 1/4 cup of vinegar over it and rinse again.
6. And, for a deep-conditioning hair mask, mash the meat of an avocado with 1 cup of mayonnaise. Rub it into your hair and cover your head with Saran wrap or any plastic wrap – a shower cap would be great. Leave on for 20 minutes and then wash it out with shampoo.
7. Rather than wearing a bra for a few days in a row, rotate them. This gives the elastic time to “re-group” and it will last longer this way!
8. When doing your make-up in the morning, it is best to do it by a window so that you have natural light. Doing it by a lightbulb could send you out with a different look than you want!
9. Your perfume does not last long? Before applying it, put a bit of petroleum jelly in the spot where you apply your perfume. Then, spray your perfume on. The petroleum jelly will make your fragrance more lasting.
10. Baby shampoo is an inexpensive way to remove your make-up, including mascara, eye liner and shadow. It contains many of the same ingredients as make-up remover. Use on a cotton ball and then rinse with water….. or baby wipes will do the trick as well.
You know it! More love, more joy and more abundant living!
