…And Another of Our Favorites
Philomena! Without a doubt, your Two Chums appreciated this movie – this movie depicting another true story, this time about Philomena Lee, an Irish girl who found herself pregnant, out of wedlock, at a time when this was certainly “not done”.
If you have not had an opportunity to see this film, please do. Obviously, I will not give you the whole story as you should see it for yourselves but suffice it to say that it is a powerful, poignant, joyous, sad, and ultimately heartwarming drama of a teenager who, rather innocently, gets pregnant and the suffering that ensues. It is based on the book”The Lost Child of Philomena Lee” which tells the story of the 50-year search for her child. Dame Judi Dench does a marvelous job as Philomena.
As a society, thank goodness, we have come a very long way since Philomena gave birth to her darling son in 1951.
Enjoy Sunday evening with the stars.. It will be great to see who the Academy deems worthy of that golden statue called “Oscar”!
PS Today marks the thirty-eighth wedding anniversary of my darling Chum, Robin, and her darling husband, Randy. What an amazing couple they make – such generosity and love I seldom see and feel. Happy Anniversary, Robin and Randy!

Thanks Margaret….so glad we could add to your recipes and hopefully to happy times around the table 🙂
Happy Anniversary! When you are secure and happy in your marriage you can offer more love to all of us, too. You have added a lot to my mornings. Thank you.
Thank you Lara for being such a loyal and faithful chum to our little site 🙂
Happy Anniversary Robin, although we have never met I feel as if you know you. According to my brother Don not only are your recipes good but you are about the best cook he knows. Since Don is certainly one of the best cooks I know you must be really good. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to find my feet under your table. Much love to you Sheilia
Sheila I would LOVE to have your feet under my table anytime…hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. And yes I agree with you that your brother Don is a fantastic cook. We have had the pleasure of enjoying many delicious meals prepared by him and will look forward to more and hopefully one that includes you at the table 🙂
