Let us introduce you to “Puffling One and Puffling Two”.
Certainly, Science can be very serious sometimes, and naming animal species can get very technical. But when it comes to naming baby animals, things seem to get silly fast.
While puffins have stuffy scientific names like “fratercula arctica” (that’s the Atlantic Puffin), the term for a baby puffin is far less dry.
Believe it or not, the proper term is “puffling.” Almost as adorable as the tiny baby birds themselves.
