A New Cup Of Joe

Do you love a really good cup of coffee as much as your Two Chums do? If your answer is “Yes” read on!

Recently, our beloved coffee maker ‘gave up the ghost’ as they say. To be fair, any coffee maker we own gets a regular workout. Before it was time to replace it, we had already had the discussion about possibly getting an espresso maker. But question #1 was “Which one?”. There is no shortage to choose from but the prices run across the board from under $100 to $1000’s of dollars. And question #2 was “Where to put it”?

When our coffee maker quit on us, we were needing to make a decision sooner rather than later, but with very limited counter space having two pieces of equipment just didn’t seem wise. Then I did some research and found a fabulous deal! Mr. Coffee makes a combo coffee maker/espresso machine that has turned out to be the best coffee maker we’ve ever had and at under $220 it is truly a great deal.

Often appliances that are “combo” anything, aren’t particularly good at either function they claim to do. Not so with this one. The basic coffee maker that makes 10 cups of coffee in a thermal carafe does a fine job.

Additionally there is an attachment that allows you to make single serving cups with purchased K-cup pods or you can make your own “K-cup” with your coffee.

And my personal favorite is the espresso feature which allows you to make 1 or 2 shots of espresso and to steam and froth your milk to make your favorite cappuccino or latte. You can even add a couple of pumps of Vanilla Torani syrup or chocolate sauce to make a mocha.

Honestly, this is by far THE BEST appliance of any kind we’ve bought in a very long time. So if you want to treat yourself and your family and friends to a real treat here in the New Year, this is a fantastic way to do it!
