A Hurricane Hack!
Yes! For sure. This is a great way to create a wonderful looking hurricane candle.
The photo you see is simply a round vase, maybe 12 or 14″ tall with a diameter of 9″ – 12″. The candle might be 3″ tall.
Place a tin, either empty or full, it really does not matter, underneath the candle to give the candle height and stability. Then place whatever you please around the tin. It could be shells, it could be cotton balls spray painted different colors (gold and silver, for example or pastel colors – whatever goes with your decor), it could be shredded paper, it could be leaves spray painted, it could be marbles from your son’s collection, there is just a multitude of things you could put around that tin to camouflage it and also to add more pizzazz to what you have going on. Also, of course, it could be seasonal! Red, white and blue jelly beans for Fourth of July, Happy Birthday wrapping paper crumpled up for a birthday celebration, etc. etc.
Happy creating! PLEASE, have fun with it!
PS Make two for either side of your mantle place.
