A Dip By Any Name – YUM!
Some people call this delicacy, Neiman Marcus Dip, some call it Million Dollar Dip, some call it Almond Bacon Cheese Spread, but everybody calls it YUMMY!
Monday is Labor Day and all over the country there will be pool parties, beach gatherings and neighborhood BBQ’s as people acknowledge the end of summer. No matter what kind of gathering you are having or going to, we have a dip for you to serve that is sure to please everyone.
This delicious and simple dip was first served in the Neiman Marcus restaurants in the 1950’s. It has maintained its popularity now for 70 years and continued to find it’s way into magazines and cookbooks, and on food blogs.
Give this one a try…it requires very little labor to make on this Labor Day weekend and we promise you’ll be very glad you made it. Enjoy your weekend!
Million Dollar Dip
(aka Neiman Marcus Dip)
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
5 green onions, sliced
1/3 cup sliced almonds
4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
Mix all the ingredients together. You can serve immediately or make up to 3 days in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator. It actually gets better when it sits. We would recommend doubling the recipe, you will probably eat it all, but even if you don’t, you will be happy to have some left over…we promise!
