Butter- Italian Style
Unless this is your first visit to Two Chums, you already know of the love affair we have with butter 🙂
The saying “everything is better with butter” is not just a slogan…to us it is an absolute truth. Â We’ve never met a butter we didn’t like as you can see from the post we did some time ago about the joys of butter.
The brand of  butter of choice for us has been Kerrygold.  While we have usually bought it from Trader Joe’s, we found this at a really good price now in a box of 3 packages in that distinctive gold wrapper that total 1.5 pounds and costs a little more than $7 at Costco.  Made from the cream of cows who graze openly on Irish fields, it is delicious!
But now we’ve found another magnificent butter…totally different but equally as pleasing. Â It just has a slightly different “accent”… this one is Italian!
We ran across this at Costco as well. Â It is sold in package of 3 “sticks” which total in weight 1.65 pounds and costs about $10. Â Like the Kerrygold, it is rich and creamy, but unlike Kerrygold, this butter is pale, very pale, in color but rich and complex in flavor.
The back of the package provides and explanation of the flavor difference.
Though we  remain loyal to our love of Kerrygold, this butter will also have a place in our kitchens.  And while the Italians my not put it on their bread or serve it at their tables, you can bet you will be able to find it on ours!
Oh the love, joy and abundance a little butter can bring…and if a little is good…a lot is better 🙂

The Italian butter would make a beautiful buttercream!!!!! 🙂
I can’t wait to try Italian butter. We only have been using Kerrygold butter at our house.
Costco has stopped stocking the ferrarini butter. Where can I find it in the los angeles area?
Doing some research – will get back to you.
I know this is a rather old post, but if you’re still searching this butter is available at the Costco in Westlake Village.
We are always happy to pass along good info to our chums. Thanks Abe!
Where can I locate it the Chicagoland area? I purchased while on vacation in Maui, was there a couple of months ago and they didn’t have it. My local in Glenview IL doesn’t sell it. It is fab!!!!
Hi Cindy. We did some investigation and there is a website called Instacart who will deliver to your area. Here is the URL for the page of the website where you can order the Ferrarini butter. https://www.instacart.com/products/234589-ferrarini-non-gmo-burro-butter-8-8-oz Enjoy…or we should say Boun Appetito!
Bought a package of Ferrarini butter today at the Costco in Alhambra, just south of Pasadena. Is it my imagination (fantasy, perhaps) that among the complex flavors is a hint of Parmigiano-Reggiano? After all, isn’t the cream used coming from the same cows who are contributing to that glorious cheese?
Absolutely! And it is delicious in our estimation. Perfect on bread or for cooking, especially any dish where Parmigiano-Reggiano would a welcomed addition. So glad you are enjoying it 🙂
Guess you can only found it in the Costco Alhambra store. I tried other Costco stores in Chino Hills and Rowland Hts, but they didn’t sell it. Guess I have to go to Alhambra to get it.
Try calling the company to see if they sell it somewhere in your area or if maybe they will ship it to you directly. Their number is (818) 788-7935. Good luck 🙂
I can’t seem to find it anywhere, any ideas?
