A Tasty Tradition
Your Two Chums truly enjoy going out to dinner. We like all kinds of restaurants but at least once a year, usually in the Spring, we have dinner at a local Japanese, teppan restaurant…it’s tradition. One of the things we love most there is the salad, primarily because we LOVE the dressing! We found a recipe for the oniony/fresh ginger dressing that is very close to the Japanese dressing we enjoy so much. It is sooo yummy we had to share it. Sharing one of our favorite foods with you, some of our favorite chums…what could be better?!! 🙂
This dressing has a fresh, clean, light flavor that we find addictive. We can’t get enough. We love it so much we’ve been known to pour the dressing left in our salad bowls over our rice!
Asian Ginger Salad Dressing
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup peanut oil
1/3 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh ginger
2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 large clove chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Place all the ingredients in the blender and mix until smooth.
We like this over a salad made with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, carrot, cucumber, thinly sliced radish, and bean sprouts.

Sounds yummy!! I always love the salad dressings at Japanese restaurants – not too heavy but always flavorful and bring out the veggies’ freshness!
